There’s three types of Pisces Suns: Pisces who have Mercury in Aquarius, Pisces who have Mercury in Aries, and Pisces who have Mercury in Pisces. Furthermore, Pisces with Pisces Mercury have Mercuries that are either in the morning phase, the evening phase, or combust.
Sometimes, you hear people talking about how different February Pisces are from March Pisces. Not all February Pisces have Aquarius Mercury and not all March Pisces have Aries Mercury! However, because Mercury is never more than 28º from the Sun, it is more likely for a February Pisces to be an Aquarius Mercury and for a March Pisces to be a Aries Mercury.
Pisces with Aquarius Mercury: Extremely shy
It’s funny. You see Pisces with Aquarius Mercury in these really big groups, talking often, doing their Pisces spiel on the poetics and fancies that have compelled them sometime that day, and you don’t think you see a shy person. But you do.
You’ll notice it in the hesitations. You’ll see Pisces with Aquarius Mercury’s eyes dart around while they speak, checking everyone’s body language, because they are truly tuned into whether or not the people they are around are invested in what they also care about. These people are quiet but they talk a lot when they actually truly care about something and oh do they care. Oh do they care! They care so much. They worry over whether or not they are taking up too much space or if they are disappearing.
You’ll notice that Pisces with Aquarius Mercury sometimes speaks as though they are pushing their words out with their breath and in staccato. It’s like they’re unsure of whether or not they should stop talking or keep on going. You’ll notice that they find the most uncanny ways to describe things. They sometimes speak like someone who hasn’t had someone else around to talk with for a while—with fresh language, with just the right amount of awkwardness, and incredibly sincerely.
Pisces with Pisces Mercury: Nameless
There’s three subsets of Pisces with Pisces Mercury: there’s Pisces who have Mercury as morning star, Pisces who have Mercury as evening star, and Pisces who have Mercury combust.
Oh, a fallen Mercury powered by the light of the Sun. What beauty, what tenacity, what splendor—this is the Pisces who says something, realizes it is embarrassing an hour later, and then realizes that it is profound a year later.
This is the Pisces who talks through the side of their mouth, not sure whether or not they really mean the things they say until they just say it and they get to see how it lands in their chest or what it could do for them. This is the Pisces who changes their mind and doesn’t feel the need to let anyone else know. This is the Pisces with the open secrets that remain mysteries.
This is the Pisces who speaks multiple languages but isn’t understood in any of them. It’s the Pisces who hears the things that are said between the lines that no one wants anyone else to hear. This is not a delusional Pisces. It’s a Pisces who can hear things that are almost impossible to name.
In the morning phase, Pisces Mercury seems to linger on old stuff. These Pisces are more compelled to explore the family stories and the elusivity of memory. They run through the same stories more again and again until the retelling of those stories makes the experience of them change.
In the evening phase, Pisces Mercury seems to become more visual than verbal. It’s less about the story and more about the image. It’s more likely for Pisces with Pisces Mercury in the evening phase to identify with their art or their music. It is more likely for Pisces with Pisces Mercury in the morning phase to work as a therapist and more likely for Pisces with Pisces Mercury in the evening phase to work as an artist.
Pisces with Aries Mercury: Unruly
This isn’t one of those Pisces with the quiet and dreamy demeanor who is content sitting in a corner with a good fantasy book (though any Pisces loves their dreaming time). No, you’re much more likely to stumble into Pisces with Aries Mercury through the friend of a friend and end up spending the whole day together laughing hysterically with them over a tree trunk that looks like camel-toe.
This is the Pisces with the feelings that don’t behave. This is the Pisces with the sharp tongue, the Pisces who lashes out and then quiets down, listens carefully, puts it together, and connects it to last week all in the space of five or so seconds. This is the Pisces with the unruly tongue and so quick witted they can convince you that almost everything you know about must be connected in one way or the other in just a day.
You can’t contain a Pisces with Aries Mercury. You can’t even really predict where they might show up. You think they’re into knitting and they’ll pop up at the club. You think they’re going through a party phase and then you find out they’ve actually been spending all their time organizing legal help for the community. This Pisces does go through phases. They don’t tend to stick to one thing and they’ll always surprise you about who they have decided to become next.
