How best to tap into my own chart (for specificity, it's virgo rising, sun in virgo in 1st house, moon in aries in 8th house) to heal historical wounds, and stop running the same goddamn old scripts? I'm 46, a quite-suddenly-single-mother-to-and-sole-support-of a seven year old daughter, and have had an extraordinarily traumatic last 12 months, and I need new paths--physical, mental, neural, emotional, sexual, financial, alllllllll of them.

Hey, all too virgo. Congrats on forty six. Congrats on that Saturn opposition you have going on.

I’m hearing so much energy from you. This need for the new! New paths! Physical, mental, neural, emotional, sexual, financial—everything. What’s it like to be you and to feel this hunger for something that you have never lived before?

It sounds like it’s quite alive to be you right now.

I’m sorry that you have had to survive extraordinary trauma this last year.

Can you still feel what it’s like to be as alive as you are?

The question you asked about how to heal historical wounds. OOF. You’re not alone here with this question. There are other people, myself included, here with you. There have been people here at this question before us and there will be people here at this question after us. What a question?

Can history be healed through culture or is ritual just a way to contain the messages of history? Does talking help? Does language help? Or does language reproduce and replay the wound? How does language change if the scripts change? What scripts are we talking about here? Do we know any of them or are there any that need to be brought into awareness?

I wonder where your Mercury is and what it says to you now.

I’m guessing that your Saturn is in Leo based on your age and that it is in the twelfth house. What a place for Saturn to be! Have you been very busy these days with the opposition from the sixth? You must be, providing the care that it takes to raise a kid. You are also an Aries Moon and my assumption about Aries Moons, is that you tend to be very busy.

I wonder how support has changed for you this Saturn transit. If there are parts of support that feel lacking, I wonder what the lack may have to say to you and what it might hunger for. I wonder if the answer could surprise you if you were to ask it at night and wish that it would tell you in a dream.

I wonder if there are parts of you that are belly full of support. I remember my own divorce. I remember the aloneness and scarcity of resources and connection and I also remember stumbling upon resources and support that I had no idea I still had with me during that year.

I also wonder how your identity as a parent has shifted because of the extraordinary trauma you have had to survive. There are times, I think, when a child feels like a burden—not to the whole of us but to some parts of us. We place such high expectations on parents that it can be hard to admit when this happens and, yet, it happens to every parent. It especially happens when the parent needs attention, needs care.

I’m thinking about how you are going through a Saturn opposition and about how Saturn rules your fifth house. The fifth house can be your child but it can also be the times when you get to be childlike.

The energy of your yearning for the new makes me think of wanting to create, wanting to birth.

You’ve given birth before. I haven’t, not to a human child. You know what it’s like to wait nine months or more for a person to form. If you are the birthing parent, you know what it’s like to form life from within yourself. You know what it’s like to know change, tremendous change, to know the change of your body becoming foreign and then familiar again with birth.

I wonder if this is similar, if separation and becoming a new person, your very identity and being changing, is similar to that other birth. Birth and loss have very similar astrological patterns, I’ve noticed.

There is an aliveness within you right now that you can feel. It will mature, all of these new paths. You will heal because that is what you do. No amount of doubt will change that. Do you doubt your body’s ability to heal a physical wound when you are scraped or cut? You will heal and you are living and will continue to live a life that wasn’t prescribed for you. The aliveness within you will make sure of it.
