Mercury In Aries Analyzed

It’s funny. Mercury in Aries almost, often, too frequently gets to make an impact through the power of voice without using a single word.

This isn’t one of those Mercuries who knows a long list of extensive SAT words. It’s not one of those Mercuries that writes out an essay. It’s not one of those Mercuries that even really says anything. Mercury in Aries doesn’t speak unless it’s necessary and they never say what can be said in three words in ten.

This is an almost brusque, impactful Mercury. It’s a Mercury that moves the body with the voice because it tries to do what it says even before the words are done. It’s a Mercury that says exactly what is on the mind.

There are poets with Aries Mercury. These are the poets who find a beat, who write poems with one word per line. They’re the poets whose poems are just a couple lines long. Maybe poetry is made for Aries Mercury. Poetry is a medium in which purple prose is trimmed, relentlessly, down. Aries Mercury doesn’t get purple.

This isn’t a Mercury that likes small talk. Aries Mercury doesn’t see you in three years and, still, they greet you (briefly) like an old friend and they immediately begin to get into the conversation that you left off at. These Mercuries speak in short, abbreviated turns of phrases—an insider’s nod to the moment. Aries Mercury “gets” what is happening right now. They expect you to keep up.

I’ve seen Aries Mercury, invited to dinner, cut down a mighty ego in just one smartly worded question. Mercury in Aries is always ready to switch the topic. You’re talking about someone you both know, about a night long ago, and then they remind you that a man who was present that night skipped the bill. It’s said as if words are very easy to brush off. Aries Mercury, remember, is a Mercury that expects to be forgiven.

The genius of Mercury in Aries is in its speed. This is a Mercury that gets a project that is meant to take two weeks done in two days. It’s a Mercury that learns a job in an afternoon and wonders if that’s really what life's all about. It’s a Mercury that reads three books at once, knowing all the words.

It’s a Mercury that doesn’t read the book again. It doesn’t watch the show again. “I’ve already seen it,” says Mercury in Aries, perplexed on why anyone would want to do the same thing more than once.

This is a Mercury that can’t help but grow. That’s the true genius of Aries Mercury. It doesn’t stop moving. It can’t. Prohibit Mercury in Aries from learning something that they want to learn and watch them buckle down. They might not say it outright and sometimes they’ll hide it. Remember, this isn’t an exceptionally loud Mercury. It’s a Mercury that uses the fewest words it can possibly use. But, they’ll find a way to learn exactly what it was that they set out to learn and they’ll also do it the hard way.

I’ve talked to older folks in their eighties with Aries Mercury. They teach me about new technology. They keep up with the times. They don’t care about remembering past stories. They live in the now.

This isn’t a Mercury that cares about ease, about beautiful words or songs. It’s a Mercury that listens to few songs. It listens to the songs that speak to the body. Mercury in Aries knows that genius is not cerebral—it’s physical. Genius, another word for spirit, doesn’t have to do with what you think. It has to do with what you’re willing to do.

Mercury in Aries doesn’t ask you to prove yourself. It doesn’t test people or measure intelligence. It’s too busy trying to prove itself.

These are hard workers. Mercury in Aries can be seen lugging around a caseload of work. When in groups, Mercury in Aries takes on the most arduous of tasks without needing to be told or to tell anyone what it’s doing. It just gets the job done. Mercury in Aries often prefers work to be physical. They like to feel like they’re getting things done and they have a faint mistrust of abstract things. Again, Mercury in Aries wants to prove itself.

Sometimes, Mercury in Aries dosen’t respect ease. It doesn’t know how. It’s too used to working very, very hard. Often, Mercury in Aries offers, too freely and frequently, to do the hard things that no one else wants to do. Often, Mercury in Aries doesn’t know that it’s overworked until it collapses from exhaustion.

Genius is the art of killing many birds with one, well aimed, well timed stone. Mercury in Aries is a genius. It doesn’t need a lot of stones. When it throws a stone, it throws it hard.

The genius of Mercury in Aries doesn’t measure itself or anyone else by should have’s, would have’s, or could have’s. It doesn’t care about any of that. This is a Mercury that lives on one timeline and one timeline only—the timeline that contains its own living life. Mercury in Aries doesn’t have regrets. It doesn’t pine over lost favors or choices. It knows that there is always more to learn no matter where you are and how you got there. This is the genius of Mercury in Aries. This is why, despite everything, no matter how old it is, it’s always ready to learn more.
